Now that's a superbug! Little Philo is normally a larva, not a fighter (I'm getting a lot of mileage out of that joke, ain't I?), but he'll protect his family when he has to.

It's been a while since I mentioned this, but just to remind you, G-Nat's lady, Julia, is fully human. She was just miniaturized by a mad scientist, who grafted her wings on just for fun. Philo has inherited full human strength from her.

Wow ... over a month since I last updated. I'm still job hunting and trying to sell the Fort Wayne house (applying for a "short sale" is not fun). Still, getting this page done makes me feel better about taking a couple of days off to spend with the rest of the family.

For those in the USA, have a safe holiday. For those elsewhere, stay safe and hug your family.

Why does everyone say the same thing when they're a little disoriented?

Reply Delta-v, 27 Nov 2015 09:44 pm

@dracone: The act of saying that phrase is called a "running joke", or "running gag" and creates more humor than an isolated instance would.

In Everyday Heroes, it is usually said after a blow to the head.

Reply dracone, 28 Nov 2015 05:50 pm

@Delta-v: I'm aware of that, but those kinds of jokes can only go so far before they become an "overly long running gag", it hasn't gotten that far yet (in my opinion) but one day it will.

Reply Delta-v, 28 Nov 2015 08:34 pm

@dracone: Well, Eddurd does vary it a bit from time to time, but if it's used often enough, it could become his "signature". :)

@Eddurd: It was good to see a new page--it made me thankful. ^^

I hope you had a great holiday, too. I also hope that employment comes your way, and that your house sells soon. :)

I like that running gag, makes me grin. ^_^ Crossing fingers for job hunting and house selling, Ed.

Worst Physics In The WORLD! (TM) That put a smile on my face, and his sister giving the explanation of 'leverage' only made it funnier. :D

Good luck on selling your house, and on finding a job.

Poor Simon... Rough-housing with super-kids is tougher than it sounded back in the office!

My human sense is tingling An insect with the proportional strength of a human? About time THAT happened (I've been irradiating myself & biting insects for years with no effect).

Job search Ed, do you have a geographic preference in terms of jobs? And what sort of a skillset do you have? I have recruiters regularly asking me if I know other people looking for work. It's primarily Pittsburgh because I keep telling them that's where I am and where I'll stay, but I also get job offers for other states.

Reply Eddurd, 10 Dec 2015 05:48 pm

@FuzzyBoots: I'm trying to stay near central Indiana. My parents are both in their late 80's and need help around the house.

Reply FuzzyBoots, 10 Dec 2015 08:53 pm

@Eddurd:
I have a brother who works in the area, albeit more toward Illinois, I suspect. I'll check with him and see what he's heard. You do computer programming, right? And applications, not embedded?

Reply Eddurd, 10 Dec 2015 11:21 pm

@FuzzyBoots: I do embedded, actually. Mostly in C.

My parents are also in their late 80's, so I get needing to stay in the area.
Today I have the weirdest mental image of Mr.Mighty adding a fake white beard to his usual outfit and playing Santa...

@chicgeek: well, it IS only October in-world. Give it a few months...

A slightly belated Merry Christmas, and a more timely Happy New Year!

Now I'm wondering about the third sibling, the one with the glasses, that's riding on her other shoulder. Dangit, I forget her name.

Reply Pastangum, 23 Jan 2016 04:10 pm

@chicgeek: I believe she was mentioned four pages ago. That's Laura (Lavra?) and she thinks she's really mature for 12 weeks. :)
