Do you know how long I've been waiting to use this joke?!

Starting the rebuild I confess, I kinda swiped this joke from "Doonesbury". Many years ago, Zonker was talking to a guy from American Samoa named "Macarthur", who explained that his parents named him just after the Battle of Midway. When Zonker tells him it's a nice name, he replies, "Tell that to my sister Doug."

This is where I started reloading my archives after my old account at WCN crashed. For readers from the old site, thanks for your patience as I rebuild the archives. For new readers, hello and please comment!

UPDATE: The old site is back up! If you want to read from the story's start, check it out here:

I just read all that was available, and I love your sense of humor!
I can't wait til your archives are replenished, as there's a bit I am clueless on.
But, I DO want to know more!
Keep doing what you're doing!

found you I was sad to see that your comic wasn't at the old URL, but after some searching I can continue following the story.
Glad to have found you again

My Sister Doug @Eddurd: I'm apparently old too, because I remember that joke. Zonker as aide to Uncle Duke, governor-general; working on his tanning for the tanning Olympics against George Hamilton (and who even remembers George Hamilton these days?); the volcano god's virgin sacrifices...

I may have read it in a Doonesbury collection, though. Because, really, I'm not THAT old. Great to see the new site! Woohoo!

Can't hide from me! Ah ha.... Found you! You can't hide from me just because your account at your old website provider crashed....

"sun Steve"? I didn't think Steve was that bright.

Reply Eddurd, January 14th, 2014, 8:33 pm

@John Campbell: Yeah, I noticed that earlier today. Fixed now.

Steve may not be bright, but he sure thinks he's hot.

Welcome back! And just a word of warning: SmackJeeves has been rather wonky for the past several weeks. (Servers down or very slow.) So don't be surprised if you find yourself wanting to smack it every once in a while.

Welcome back! But I hope that reynard61's warning isn't a harbringer of more problems to come.
