Ready, set, NOT Yeah, this is gonna be one uncomfortable conversation. Be prepared to learn some secret info about superhumans (but you have to promise not to tell).

The TWC vote incentive will be up tomorrow. Please vote anyway!

I finally have some time to draw for myself; I've been teaching a comics class at a local gallery for the past 6 weeks. All my drawing time was taken up preparing handouts and making lesson plans. It went very well; so well that the gallery wants to repeat the class next month. On the bright side, I can re-use most of the handouts from the previous class, so I should still be able to keep the story going here.

How's your summer going?

Ah, the talk... It is rare that this strip makes me think of XKCD, but the sheer adolescent horror immediately brought this one to mind...

Glad to hear the classes are going well. I wish I had the time for something like that, but I think it may have to wait for retirement.

Good to see you again @Eddurd: Hey! Long time no see! I was worried about you!

@TheAuldGrump: Yeah, it's good to see you, @Eddurd! Hope things are going acceptably for you!

Oooooh! It's a "Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex" talk! These are SUCH fun! *makes popcorn*

Reply Delta-v, August 10th, 2019, 8:08 pm

@Quarktime: Yep, David Gerrold pretty much nailed it. ^^

Reply Quarktime (Guest), August 10th, 2019, 8:23 pm

@Delta-v: You mean Larry Niven. HE wrote "Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex". It was in "All The Myriad Ways".

Talked to David at a convention a couple of years ago. Still waiting for Method for Madness and Time for Treason. I hope he finishes them before he finally sporates.

@Quarktime: Yeah, you're right. Don't get old. Your memory gets mushy when you get old. ^^

(I shouda looked it up.)

@Delta-v: Whoops. Too late. Already old. Get off my lawn, ya whippersnapper! ;)

Heh, Jane was a villainess, and she still has problems approaching the subject of sex (and even after wearing that outfit, too). ^^

Reply Opus the Poet (Guest), August 27th, 2019, 5:20 am

@Delta-v: This isn't just about sex, this could be a matter of life and death. It's either she knows about this and either decides to use the drugs and have a sex life, or not use the drugs and doesn't. But not knowing about the drugs she could get intimate withe a boy (or girl) and at a critical moment crush something attached to said boy (or girl) during that few seconds when the body takes over and fulfills its genetic imperative. I have sprained fingers when entertaining a woman who trained her Kegels daily, and that's with baseline human strength. Summer is orders of magnitude beyond baseline human even if she doesn't train her Kegels. Things would get crushed beyond repair or further use if she doesn't get this information.

Reply Delta-v, August 27th, 2019, 1:08 pm

@Opus the Poet: All true, but you seem to =have missed the point that in panel 5, Jane looks as if she needed to gather her courage before sharing such vital information. :)

Vote incentive is a "broken link" icon Whatever you sent to TWC isn't posting. I don't mind, it's just that there's something supposed to be there and the fact that it isn't disturbs my sense of esthetics. It's like knowing the Venus de Milo had arms but nobody thought to make a picture and put it in a safe place.
